Decided to start Prof.M.K. Sanu Study Research Centre




In the commemoration meeting presided over by Dr. K. Radhakrishnan Nair, Probhodha Trust Secretary D.D. Naveen Kumar, Kumaran Asan Cultural Centre President Adv. D.G. Suresh, Progressive Art and Cultural Centre District Secretary Joshi Donbosco, Sahitya Akademi Award winner R.S. Bhaskar, Dr. Elsamma Joseph Arakkal et al. gave commemoration talks.








Key Decisions on M.K. Sanu Study Research Centre:

It will be an initiative of Probodha Trust: It was decided to start the "Prof. M.K. Sanu Study Research Centre" under the patronage of Probhodha Trust,Kochi. 

Composition of Directors: With Prof. Vinod Kumar Kallolickal as Chairman & Director, Probodha Trust Secretary D.D. Naveen Kumar, S.N.V. Sadanam Secretary M.R. Geetha, Dr. K. Radhakrishnan Nair, Dr. Dayal Paleri, Dr. Siby K. Joseph, Dr. Elsamma Joseph Arakkal, Dr. Usha Kiran et al. forming a board of 13 members.


The Key Objectives of the Centre 

Prof. M.K. Sanu Study-Research Centre is being  established in Kochi to protect Kerala's cultural-historical advancement, to incorporate new knowledge sources, to study indigenous philosophical perspectives, and to give encouragement to secular and pluralistic approaches. While giving special emphasis to research in Malayalam language, literature, folklore, better reconstruction of Kochi's social-cultural history is also a main goal of this Centre. This centre will become a hub for in-depth studies on topics like Kochi's socio-literary history, intellectual tradition, influence of colonial rule, religious-social changes, trade-community relations. Through fellowships, archival facilities, seminars, it will give support to researches on Kochi's unique social structure, contributions of various communities, business history, language variations. This centre will be helpful for academic studies of Kochi and for discussing Prof. M.K. Sanu's works. It will become a platform for youngsters engaged in history-culture research of Kerala, especially Kochi.
